Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Memento (the "Service"), operated by Kri Labs ("we", "us"). By creating an account or uploading a photo as a guest, you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
Memento lets event hosts share a QR code so guests can upload photos and short videos to a private gallery for that event. We offer three plan tiers (Free, Standard, Premium) with different limits, retention windows, and features. Plan details are on the homepage and may change for future events; existing paid events keep the tier they were purchased on.
2. Accounts
Hosts sign in by email magic-link. You are responsible for keeping that inbox secure. Guests do not create accounts; their identity is a per-event signed cookie.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, or sexually explicit;
- Upload content depicting minors in any sexual or exploitative context;
- Attempt to bypass plan quotas, presigned-URL validation, or moderation;
- Use automated tools to scrape galleries you don't own;
- Resell or sublicense the Service.
Photos on plans with a public cross-guest gallery are automatically screened by AWS Rekognition. We may remove content that violates these terms without notice.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos and videos you upload. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transcode, generate thumbnails of, and deliver your content for the sole purpose of operating the Service for the event you uploaded to. We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell your content.
5. Payments and refunds
Plan upgrades are one-time payments per event, processed by our payment provider (Razorpay). Prices are shown in your local currency where available, and otherwise in USD; your bank may charge an FX fee on cross-border charges. Applicable taxes are added at checkout where required.
Because each plan unlocks higher upload limits, longer retention, and HD downloads immediately, plan upgrades are non-refundable once any guest has uploaded under the upgraded plan. If no guest has uploaded after upgrade, you may request a full refund within 7 days at legal@kri-labs.com. We will respond within 5 business days. 6. Data, retention, and deletion
Retention per plan is described in our Privacy Policy. After retention expires, photos are deleted automatically and cannot be recovered. Guests can self-delete via the data deletion form; hosts can delete an account from Settings.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not warrant uninterrupted service. We may schedule maintenance with or without notice. We are not liable for losses arising from internet, device, or third-party outages, including AWS, Razorpay, ZeptoMail, or Inngest.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected event in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms. On termination, your event data is deleted per our retention policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be heard in the courts of India, unless a non-waivable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, notify hosts by email.
